May 2015 postage rate increase approved

A postage rate increase on First Class Mail, international mail, Standard Mail, Periodicals and package services will officially take effect on May 31, 2015.

The increase was originally planned for April 26, but was delayed after the Postal Regulatory Committee (PRC) remanded proposed rates for Standard Mail, periodicals and package services back to the USPS. The Postal Service announced on March 27 that it would delay all price adjustments, before submitting a revised proposal in mid-April.

The PRC approved the revised proposal last week, confirming that the new rates will be implemented on May 31. Rates affected include First Class Mail, international mail, Standard Mail, Periodicals and package services.
