COVID-19 Update – September 1, 2020

Another move in the right direction for Michigan. According to local media sources, Governor Whitmer is expected to approve the re-opening of gyms, movie theaters, bowling alleys, and ice rinks. The announcement could come as early as tomorrow and take effect right after Labor Day. This is exciting news for many businesses that have been closed for the past 6 months! It appears that Michigan is definitely moving in the right direction (knock on wood).

According to recent figures, six of Michigan’s eight COVID reporting regions continued to show a decrease in cases per million people; and the state’s positivity rate held steady at 3.3%. A positivity rate below 3% means the infection rates are under control.

As an additional layer of safety as we move into Fall, Governor Whitmer and Dr. Khaldun are urging everyone to get a flu shot, which are available now across the state. Since the flu and COVID present many of the same symptoms, getting a flu shot can help reduce confusion as to which illness a person has. Here at Extend Your Reach we’re pushing this information out to our staff and suggesting everyone get a flu shot earlier rather than later, and we hope you consider it as well.

If we all keep doing our part by following safety and social distancing protocols, more Michigan businesses will be able to open and begin serving their loyal customers once again. Strong, growing Michigan companies are good for everyone. And EYR is ready to help in any way we can — direct mail, email marketing, statement processing, business continuity, and more. Stay safe!
