USPS rate change planned for May 31

May 31Mailers, re-mark your calendars. The postal rate increase originally planned for April 26 will now likely happen on May 31.

The United States Postal Service has again submitted a proposal to the Postal Regulatory Committee (PRC) to raise postage rates on Standard Mail, Periodicals and Package Services.

The new proposal was submitted after two others were remanded back to the Postal Service by the PRC. If approved, the proposed rates will take effect on May 31, 2015. Along with updated pricing for Standard Mail, Periodicals and Package Services, the Postal Service will implement the previously-approved new rates for First Class Mail, Special Services and Competitive Products.

You can read USPS’s full response to Order No. 2398 here.
